ANIMA VAGULA BLANDULA

"Anima vagula blandula" are words from a poem by the Roman emperor Adrian, and referenced by  Marguerite Yourcenar in her book Memories of Adrian. They sum up the emperor's view of the ephemerality of life and the transient nature of the soul. Once again, I have only used these words to summon the image from Midjourney: after some tinkering, it answered with this funky looking beetle. I wonder if the beetle's ornate wings and metallic reflections were chosen to personify the concept of something delicate, vague and oscillatory.
